Aquabyte is doubling its team in Chile to enhance support for its customers. The company is increasing its local workforce to 12, bolstering departments including sales, customer support, insight, and field operations.
Ignacio Oñate, Country Manager of Aquabyte Chile, stated, “As more and more farmers adopt our AI-based technology, we are reinforcing our already strong local presence in Chile. This is a fast-growing market for Aquabyte, and to ensure we can support both existing and new customers, we are making significant investments in our team in Puerto Varas.”
The recent addition, Karina Gajardo, has joined as Senior Sales Manager. With a background in veterinary science and a Doctorate in Philosophy, Gajardo previously worked at Skretting and BioMar. She said, “I’ve been following Aquabyte for years and have seen how they’ve developed tailored solutions unique for the Chilean market, such as biomass and welfare monitoring for Coho, and accurate automatic counting of Caligus lice. When this opportunity arose, it was an easy decision to join the fast-growing Aquabyte Chile team.”
To enhance customer support, Aquabyte Chile is also hiring new staff in customer-facing roles. The expanded field team is expected to provide quick and efficient deployment of new systems to meet client needs.
“It’s been quite a journey since our first local Chilean employee joined back in 2021. We’re now adding seven new team members here in Puerto Varas, bringing our team to 12 members. This latest expansion comes at the perfect time and will enable us to continue playing a strong role in the development of the Chilean aquaculture industry. No two customers are alike, and having a large, robust local organisation is crucial to meeting each customer’s unique needs,” Oñate added.
