
Alessandro Reis has been named the new CEO of CJ Selecta, following his tenure as COO. Reis has been with the company since 2007 and is committed to enhancing capacity while minimising environmental impacts.
Bringing nearly two decades of experience at CJ Selecta, Reis has progressed through various roles within the sales and logistics departments before stepping into the COO position in 2019. Now, he leads a workforce of approximately 600 employees.
Reis’s professional journey began at Cargill as a trainee before he moved to CJ Selecta. His career exemplifies the importance of discipline, commitment, and integrity, serving as an inspiring model for emerging professionals.

Reis emphasised a strong commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles that shape the company’s products and services. He plans to develop a cohesive communication strategy that aligns with commercial efforts both in Brazil and internationally.
CJ Selecta, a Brazilian producer of deforestation-free and GMO-free soy concentrate, plays a significant role in supplying the Norwegian aquaculture industry. The company is known for its transparency and has led initiatives in documenting the sustainability of its value chain.
Reis, a well-versed professional in Norwegian aquaculture, highlighted the growing sustainability requirements in the sector. “Throughout my time at CJ Selecta, we have been advocating for sustainable practices. We will continue this in the future,” he said.
As a leading producer of soy protein concentrate (SPC), CJ Selecta shares detailed information about its carbon footprint and has invested in regenerative agriculture, an area they see great potential for growth.
With over 30 years in agribusiness, Reis, who is Brazilian and based in Uberlândia, holds an economics degree. He brings expertise in various fields, highlighted by his consistency and strategic vision.
Reis also serves on the Board of Directors for the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries and has been a longstanding member of the Brazilian Association of Grain Exporters, boosting the agribusiness sector in Brazil and beyond.
Assuming the CEO role, Reis is dedicated to leading CJ Selecta into a new chapter focused on growth, innovation, sustainability, and development, honouring the company’s 70-year legacy while expanding its global influence.
