Eighteen Danish companies will showcase solutions for sustainable fisheries and aquaculture at Icelandic Fisheries & Aquaculture (IceFish) 2026, as the sector places increasing emphasis on green transition, circularity and resource efficiency.
Taking place in Kópavogur, Iceland, from September 22–24, IceFish 2026 will feature the Pavilion of Denmark, organised by Danish Export – Fish Tech and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Denmark – The Trade Council. The pavilion will bring together companies spanning multiple areas of the fisheries and aquaculture value chain.

This year’s IceFish focus on sustainable growth and environmental responsibility is strongly reflected in the Danish participation. Landia is one of the exhibitors; while being present at IceFish for the first time, the company has long supplied equipment to Iceland.
Landia will showcase their improved fish silage technology, which uses a controlled and hygienic procedure to turn dead fish and fish byproducts into stable silage. The method lowers the dangers involved in handling and storing fish mortalities while promoting biosecurity. The resulting silage can be used for fertiliser, pet food ingredients, and further protein and fish oil recovery, depending on restrictions and the quality of the raw materials.
According to Landia CCO Thorkild Maagaard, the company sees IceFish as a chance to connect with possible partners from other foreign markets, such as the US and Canada, while also anticipating Iceland’s growing significance.
RUNI, which will be exhibiting alongside its Icelandic distributor, Pure North Recycling, will also highlight circularity. The business will give a demonstration of their EPS compactor for discarded fish boxes. By reducing the volume of expanded polystyrene by up to 50 times, the method improves transportation efficiency and allows waste packaging to be recycled.
Demand for solutions that combine economic and environmental benefits is rising, according to RUNI Area Sales Manager Jens Kristian Kristensen. The company hopes to build new connections with IceFish industry players.
The Pavilion of Denmark, located at stands D10–D29, will feature companies including A-Consult Aqua, Atlantic Shipping, Beckhoff Automation, Dania Plast, Landia, OXYMAT, Plast Solutions, Randers Reb International, RUNI/Pure North Recycling, SulfiLogger and Wapro, among others.
