
Ace Aquatec has been recognised in the innovation category at the Scotland Business of the Year Awards, held on 18 June, for its fish monitoring technology.
Based in Dundee, Ace Aquatec develops advanced hardware and AI-driven software designed to improve fish welfare, optimise production and reduce operating costs. The company integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning throughout fish production systems to support efficiency, welfare and sustainable protein production.
One of the company’s flagship technologies is the A-Biomass® camera system, which uses AI and advanced imaging to measure the length and weight of individual fish in low-light underwater environments. The technology continuously captures and analyses data in real time, enabling producers to make more informed decisions on feeding, stock management and harvesting. The system is designed to improve operational efficiency, sustainability and fish welfare.
In addition to fish monitoring technology, Ace Aquatec has developed a range of welfare-focused solutions for the aquaculture and marine sectors, including its Humane Stunner Universal (A-HSU®). The system is designed to support efficient harvesting while maintaining high standards of fish welfare through a fast, reliable and humane stunning process.
