IFFO – The Marine Ingredients Organisation – has announced the appointment of Adriana Giudice as its President for the 2026–2027 term, marking a significant leadership transition for the global marine-ingredients sector. Giudice, CEO of the Peru-based Austral Group, brings extensive experience from one of the world’s most influential regions for fishmeal and fish oil production. Her leadership at Austral, which operates a major fleet and multiple processing plants along the Peruvian coast, has been characterised by a strong commitment to responsible sourcing, operational efficiency and sustainability — all core priorities for IFFO as it navigates an increasingly complex global market.

Giudice stated her pride in taking on the role and emphasised her intention to continue advancing IFFO’s vision for responsible development, particularly through ongoing innovation and closer collaboration throughout the marine-ingredients value chain. Her presidency comes at a time when marine ingredients are under heightened scrutiny as essential components for aquaculture feed, with the sector facing sustained pressure to balance nutritional performance, environmental responsibility and supply-chain transparency.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen dialogue between producers, regulators, and feed manufacturers, supporting the industry’s ongoing efforts to align with the highest sustainability standards. This includes expanding adoption of certification schemes, improving traceability, and driving the development of low-impact production models that support resilient aquatic food systems.

IFFO also confirmed Egil Magne Haugstad as Vice-President for the same term, completing the organisation’s new leadership team. Together, they will help shape the future direction of marine-ingredient governance at a pivotal moment for global aquaculture.
