Alltech Coppens receives EcoVadis Platinum Medal for sustainability efforts

Alltech Coppens has been awarded a Platinum Medal by EcoVadis, placing the company in the top 1% of more than 200,000 businesses assessed for sustainability. The recognition highlights Alltech Coppens’ commitment to sustainability across its entire value chain.

The Platinum Medal reflects the company’s initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, promote fair labour practices, and maintain ethical business conduct. EcoVadis evaluates companies based on 21 sustainability criteria in four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Ronald Faber, CEO of Alltech Coppens, expressed pride in the award, emphasizing the company’s role in supporting sustainable aquaculture. “We believe aquaculture plays a key role in environmental sustainability, and through careful management of resources and science, we aim to contribute to the sustainable production of fish,” he said.

The company improved its sustainability rating from a Gold Medal in 2023 to the Platinum Medal in 2025, driven by its ongoing efforts to reduce emissions, improve transparency, and develop efficient, sustainable feeds. Alltech Coppens supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 14, Life Below Water, and continues to seek new ways to enhance its sustainability impact.

EcoVadis’ assessment is based on international sustainability standards, such as the UN Global Compact and ILO conventions, and serves as a roadmap for continuous improvement in a company’s sustainability practices.
