The latest extrusion invention from international technology group ANDRITZ, the ExMax S1021, was unveiled at the Victam LaTam event in São Paulo, Brazil. The new extruder enables manufacturers to consistently produce high-quality nutrition, enhance food safety, and increase operational efficiency. All of these will reduce operating costs and minimise unscheduled downtime, responding to the growing demand for safer, more sustainable pet food and aqua feed.

The ExMax S1021 was created in partnership with industry manufacturers and boasts a sanitary stainless-steel design and sophisticated automation that improves production’s cleanliness, dependability, and controllability. To guarantee accurate density control, quicker starting and shutdown, and consistent product quality, the system’s patented DensiFlexTM technology automates cooking and expansion.

“The ExMax S1021 is not just about capacity, it’s about giving producers greater control, cleaner operations, and consistently higher product quality,” said Danny Cummins, Head of Product Management at ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel. “Producers worldwide are under pressure to deliver safer, more sustainable feed at lower cost. This technology is designed to meet these demands and help them remain competitive in fast-growing markets like those in Latin America.”

The ExMax S1021 has several advantages, including:

  • Improved food safety by lowering the danger of cross-contamination through its sanitary design.
  • Increased product uniformity through automated density management.
  • Adaptability to a broad range of feed formulas.
  • Automatic adjustment and a curved knife housing reduce downtime.
  • Reduced running expenses as a result of an energy-efficient drive system.
  • Increased lifespan of the machine due to improved automation and maintenance characteristics.

Additionally, ANDRITZ will be exhibiting its automation and digitalisation solutions as well as its full-service support portfolio at Booth #4000 during Victam LaTam, till today September 18, 2025.
ANDRITZ, which was founded in 1852 and has its headquarters in Austria, employs around 30,000 people in more than 80 countries and is dedicated to providing innovative, sustainable solutions that promote environmental responsibility and industrial efficiency globally.
