The unanimous vote took place during FEAP’s 2026 Annual General Meeting held in Limassol, Cyprus, on 22 May. Pyć will serve a three-year term.

Pyć is chief executive of Pustelnia Fish Farm and vice-president of the Polish Trout Breeders Association. She has also been a member of FEAP’s Management Committee for the past six years. Her experience includes fish farming operations, industry representation and policy work at both national and European levels.

According to FEAP, Pyć has worked to increase the visibility of Poland’s principal farmed fish species, carp and trout, while also developing relationships with national institutions in support of sustainable aquaculture. Her work has additionally focused on fish welfare, environmental responsibility, innovation and production standards.

The federation stated that her appointment also highlights the role of freshwater aquaculture in Europe and the contribution of women working within the sector.

FEAP also acknowledged the contribution of outgoing president Lara Barazi-Geroulanou, noting her role in strengthening the organisation’s position as a representative body for European fish farmers. The federation additionally thanked the Cyprus Mariculture Association for hosting the meeting.
