The 8th edition of AquaFarm, held alongside NovelFarm and AlgaeFarm, saw notable growth, with a 30% increase in total visitors compared to the previous year. The event, which took place at the Pordenone exhibition centre, attracted 2,400 attendees, including a quarter from abroad. Visitors from Croatia were the largest international group, making up 16.6% of the foreign attendees, followed by a delegation from Brasil, coordinated by Agenzia ICE.
A total of 110 exhibitors participated in the event, with almost one-third coming from outside Italy. France led the list of foreign exhibitors, followed by the United States, Spain, Norway, and Denmark.
The conference program, featuring 21 sessions and over 150 events, played a key role in the event’s success. Key topics included sustainability in aquaculture, energy self-sufficiency, and decarbonisation. Noteworthy sessions focused on aquaculture products with added value, European innovations in the industry, and the evolution of controlled agriculture in urban environments.
The event also featured a roundtable on the future of the algae supply chain, which discussed the opportunities and challenges across sectors such as food and pharmaceuticals.
AquaFarm, NovelFarm, and AlgaeFarm have established themselves as key events for the aquaculture, vertical farming, and algae industries, combining exhibition, professional development, and business opportunities. The 9th edition will take place on 18-19 February 2026.
