Bakkafrost Scotland harvested 27,900 tonnes of salmon in 2024

Bakkafrost Scotland harvested 27,900 tonnes of salmon last year, surpassing its original guidance by 11.6%, according to a trading update from its parent company, Bakkafrost, released yesterday.

In total, the Bakkafrost Group harvested 90,700 tonnes of salmon in 2024, with 62,800 tonnes coming from the Faroe Islands. Harvest volumes for the final quarter included 16,600 tonnes from the Faroe Islands and 3,800 tonnes from Scotland.

Bakkafrost Scotland focused its harvest in the first half of 2024. In addition to its salmon harvests, Bakkafrost’s feed subsidiary, Havsbrún, reported sales of 38,900 tonnes of feed in Q4 2024, bringing the total feed sales for the year to 140,400 tonnes. Havsbrún also sourced 42,000 tonnes of raw materials in the last quarter of 2024.

The full Q4 2024 financial report will be released on February 18.
