Benchmark Genetics has announced the appointment of Kenneth Tay as Senior Advisor, Business & Strategy Development, to bolster the company’s expanding global shrimp genetics business.
Tay contributes a wealth of knowledge to the position with more than 18 years of experience in company development and shrimp broodstock selling throughout Asia. Prior to his appointment as Director of Shrimp Improvement Systems Group Pte Ltd in 2023, he co-founded and oversaw Shrimp Improvement Systems Singapore Pte Ltd (SIS) from 2004 to 2010. With significant operations in Florida and Hawaii, SIS is widely acknowledged as the top supplier of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) P. vannamei shrimp broodstock.
In addition to growing into important Asian markets like China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Korea, Tay was instrumental in the establishment of SIS’s Broodstock Multiplication Centre in Singapore.
