BioMar Chile has earned Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Feed certification for three of its feed production sites in Ercilla, Pargua, and Castro. With this certification, ASC-certified salmon producers in Latin America can now source ASC-compliant feed from BioMar Chile. The ASC Feed certification ensures that BioMar Chile meets standards for social and labor rights, environmental management, and sustainable sourcing of raw materials.
“This certification reinforces our position in feed production and our commitment to responsible practices,” said Gabriela Heim, Commercial Manager at BioMar Chile. She noted that this is a key step in their strategy for sustainability in aquaculture. The ASC Feed Standard includes criteria for health and safety, traceability, and sustainability. ASC is a non-profit organization that manages a global certification program, giving consumers confidence that the seafood they purchase meets high environmental and ethical standards.

In addition to the certification, BioMar Chile is focusing on innovation and collaboration with industry partners to support sustainable aquaculture. Cristian Dominik, Quality and Formulation Manager at BioMar Chile, added, “This certification assures our customers that they are using feed that meets top sustainability standards, helping them succeed in a competitive market.”
Aisla Jones, Feed Engagement Manager at ASC, congratulated BioMar Chile for meeting ASC’s standards: “This certification gives Chilean salmon farmers access to ASC-compliant feed, which is essential as we approach the October 2025 deadline for certified farms to secure ASC-compliant feed.”
Dominik concluded, “This certification is part of our broader commitment to supporting the entire salmon farming value chain. By continuing to invest in innovation and collaboration, we aim to help producers succeed while ensuring sustainable aquaculture practices.”
