Indonesia seeks global collaborations to strengthen fisheries sector at AquaFarm 2025

Indonesia’s fisheries and aquaculture sector is aiming for global collaboration as part of its ongoing effort to enhance the industry’s international presence. The Indo Fisheries 2025 Expo & Forum delegation visited AquaFarm 2025 in Italy from 12 to 13 February, 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s role in the global fisheries market.

The visit aligns with Indonesia’s strategy to promote its fisheries industry, as indicated by recent data from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), which reported fishery product exports totalling USD 4.23 billion by September 2024, a 3.1% increase from the previous year. The country is keen to expand its global influence, particularly through platforms like Indo Fisheries 2025, which will take place from 2 to 4 July, 2025, in Surabaya.

Indo Fisheries 2025 Expo & Forum, a key part of Southeast Asia’s largest international exhibition, aims to foster innovation, technological advancements, and sustainability in the sector. The event will bring together over 300 exhibitors from 30 countries and expects 15,000 visitors. It will also be held alongside other major exhibitions like Indo Livestock, Indo Feed, and Indo Dairy 2025, creating opportunities for cross-sector collaboration across livestock, animal feed, agriculture, and more.

The participation in AquaFarm 2025 presents an opportunity for Indonesia to showcase its potential and explore new collaborations that will benefit its fisheries and aquaculture industries. The event also serves as a platform for sharing insights and discussing trends in the global market.
