InWater Technologies has partnered with Mowi Canada West to deploy its UpWeller aeration system at 11 marine salmon farming sites in British Columbia. This follows two years of successful trials at select farms. The UpWeller system, designed to bring deeper, oxygen-rich water to the surface within net pens, aims to improve water quality, reduce feed-loss days, and enhance fish survival and health during the marine grow-out phase.
Stephanie King, CEO and co-founder of InWater Technologies, emphasised that Mowi’s decision to expand the UpWeller installation across multiple sites reflects the system’s proven effectiveness. The system, first piloted in 2023, has been continuously refined through close collaboration with Mowi’s team, optimising its performance and ensuring its ease of use in dynamic marine environments.
The modular, durable design of the UpWeller makes it well-suited for marine settings, and its low-maintenance nature has led more farmers to adopt it. InWater Technologies is also working with salmon producers worldwide to customise UpWeller systems to meet different cage types, site conditions, and production needs.
This expansion marks a significant step for InWater Technologies, solidifying its position as an innovator in sustainable aquaculture solutions.
