Irida has announced the successful certification of both aquafeed production facilities to the ASC Feed Standard, making them the first in Greece to achieve this important distinction. The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) sets the world’s most rigorous criteria for sustainable, ethical, and transparent aquaculture.
Providing ASC-certified aquafeeds to aquaculture producers who are themselves ASC-certified aligns raw materials with farming practices in a concrete and sustainable supply chain andstrengthens consumer trust.
At Irida, their new ASC certification is not the end of the journey, but a significant milestone in an ongoing collective journey. Beyond ASC, Irida collaborates with leading industry organizations and NGOs, including MarinTrust, IFFO – The Marine Ingredients Organization (IFFO), Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), and the Global Seafood Alliance (GSA). Together with these partners, IRIDA recently participated in the event “From Traceable Raw Materials to Sustainable Aquafeeds,” organised by HAPO (Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization), sharing transparent data on Greek aquafeeds as a model of circular economy and promoting science-based, verifiable practices.
