Maritech expands into European and Asian markets

Maritech, a Norway-based provider of cloud-based software for the seafood industry, has announced its expansion into new markets in Europe and Asia. The company, which serves major salmon farmers such as Mowi, SalMar, and Grieg Seafood, currently operates in nine countries with its technology deployed in over 500 businesses.

The move comes as global demand for digital solutions in the seafood sector grows, with Maritech aiming to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and profitability in operations. Klas Vangen, its new general manager for Europe and Asia, called 2024 a pivotal year for the company as it works to become a global player.

Maritech was acquired by CAI Software in February, a move that bolstered its ability to enter new regions. Per Alfred Holte, Maritech’s commercial leader, emphasized the company’s strong connections with existing customers in Europe and Asia as a key factor in its international growth.

“We’ve seen increasing interest in digitalizing and professionalizing daily operations in the seafood sector,” said Vangen. “This makes now the perfect time to expand into new markets.”

The company’s Maritech Eye product, which detects and documents quality issues during processing, is central to its offerings. Maritech says the technology helps reduce waste, improve resource productivity, and enable more sustainable production in the seafood industry.
