Mowi Feed has announced that both its feed plants in Valsneset, Norway, and Kyleakin, Scotland, have received ASC certification. This certification recognises the company’s adherence to high standards in supplier and raw material management.
Mowi shared in their LinkedIn post that the certification was achieved through two years of teamwork and systematic efforts, during which they developed a stronger feed organisation and shared best practices under its “OneFeed” initiative. The achievement is part of Mowi’s broader sustainability strategy.
Catarina Martins, Mowi’s Chief Sustainability and Technology Officer, highlighted that the certification aligns with the company’s goal of having 100% of its annual harvest volumes certified by a recognised standard, such as ASC, BAP, or Global GAP. This certification at the feed plants is critical to maintaining ASC certification for Mowi’s European farming sites.
Mowi emphasised that while receiving certification is a significant milestone, future efforts will focus on continuous improvement, development, and simplification of their processes.
