The North American Renderers Association has announced the appointment of Moises Huerta as its Latin America director. Based in Bogotá, Huerta will lead NARA’s international market development activities across Latin America, with a focus on strengthening market access, expanding industry engagement and advancing the use of NARA members’ products.
In this role, Huerta will act as NARA’s regional representative, providing on-the-ground support for the organisation and its members. He will work closely with regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders to monitor market and policy developments, support science-based engagement to address technical barriers and identify growth opportunities. He will also contribute to the implementation of NARA’s international marketing programmes.
Huerta brings more than 15 years of experience in international agricultural trade and market development, including over a decade promoting US agricultural exports across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Earlier in his career, he spent seven years with the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service at the US Embassy in Colombia, where he led market access and regulatory engagement efforts in a market now representing approximately US$4.5 billion in agricultural exports. His work helped resolve technical barriers, facilitate trade and safeguard tens of millions of dollars in exports under complex regulatory conditions. He also held roles with the Embassy of Peru in Washington, D.C., supporting trade promotion and market access for Peruvian food and agricultural exporters.
