PT Aqua Wins big at BIM Innovation Conference

Dublin-based PT Aqua has been named BIM Aquatech Business of the Year 2025 at the Blue Ambition Aquatech Innovation Conference, recognising its development of premium feeds for the global aquaculture industry.

The conference is hosted by Irish aquaculture state agency, Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), and investment firm Hatch Blue in Ireland.

Ian Sutton and Paul Coyne ( Co-Owners ) said the award was an unexpected honour, and credited their dedicated international team and attention to close industry colaborations.

“We built our business on trust, networking and solving problems for customers,” they said. “BIM have supported us from the very beginning with their wealth of knowledge, connections and guidance.”

Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Timmy Dooley, TD, spoke at the conference about Ireland’s growing aquatech sector.

Highlighting the deserving winners of this prestigious award, saying the company were a strong example to young Irish aquatech companies, of how successful international growth and success in this sector, can be achieved through collaboration and networking.

BIM Aquatech Development Manager Damien Toner said PT Aqua’s success reflects the sector’s progress.

“Our aquatech companies continue to expand into new markets and develop new technologies,” he said.

Ireland’s aquatech sector is further supported by BIM’s Aquatech Innovation Studio, which has helped more than 60 companies create 200 jobs and attract EU€16 million in investment, alongside a EU€15 million commitment from the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund.
