World Aquaculture Singapore 2026 (WA2026) will bring the global aquaculture community together at the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2–5 June 2026, highlighting innovation, technology, and sustainable aquaculture practices. The event is expected to attract scientists, researchers, and industry stakeholders to explore the future of aquatic food production.
A key focus of WA2026 will be Singapore’s AquaPolis Asian Seabass R&D Programme, a national initiative supported by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) with S$18.5 million in funding. The programme unites eight research institutions and 19 industry partners to develop next-generation parasite-resistant fingerlings, optimise nutrition, and improve disease management strategies. These innovations aim to enhance the growth, robustness, and fillet quality of locally farmed Asian seabass, supporting Singapore’s goal of a resilient, productive local food supply.
The programme is designed to strengthen the competitiveness of locally produced Asian seabass against imports and support Singapore’s broader Food Story initiative. It builds on previous genomic selection projects and integrates farm-relevant research to ensure practical benefits for the aquaculture sector.
WA2026 will also offer a comprehensive programme including plenary sessions, keynote presentations, technical talks, and industry exhibitions. The event theme, ‘High Yield Production Through Nutrition, Health, Genetics, and Resources,’ reflects the sector’s shift toward integrated, science-based solutions for sustainable growth.
On June 3 at 9:00 AM, the conference will feature a plenary session with national speakers, followed by a keynote presentation from Richard Barry, Senior Market Analyst and Director of Programs at the National Fisheries Institute, USA, examining U.S. seafood market dynamics and global aquaculture trends.
The abstract submission deadline has been extended to April 1, 2026, giving researchers and industry professionals extra time to submit their latest findings. Participants can complete submissions via the official conference website, with hotel bookings available at special rates.
