The Nor-Fishing Foundation is accepting applications for its 2025 Innovation Award, which offers NOK 100,000 to the individual or company behind the top innovation in the aquaculture industry. The winner will be announced during the Aqua Nor opening ceremony on 19 August, with the event also streamed on Aqua Nor’s YouTube channel.
Established in 2003, the award encourages development of new products, services, or solutions that benefit aquaculture. Projects should demonstrate value in areas such as sustainability, fish health, crew safety, operational efficiency, or market development.
The award is open to individuals and companies worldwide, both within and outside the aquaculture sector. However, research institutions may not apply directly, though collaboration with them for testing or analysis is allowed. All submitted projects must be owned by the applicant.
Applications must be submitted using the official form by May 15, 2025, and sent via email to innovation@nor-fishing.no, marked “Aqua Nor Innovation Award 2025.”
The jury includes representatives from FHF, the Norwegian Fishermen’s Association, Innovation Norway, and Hofseth International. Inquiries can be directed to jury head Oddbjørn Rødsten at oddbjorn.rodsten@gmail.com.
Applicants seeking patents are advised not to publish details of their inventions before filing a patent application, to avoid losing eligibility for protection.
