Gael Force has announced the successful delivery and installation of their SeaSight PTZ underwater camera systems at an aquaculture site in Oman, marking an important step in their continued export growth.
The SeaSight PTZ camera was introduced to the region through the companies new Sales Manager, Alessandro Ciattaglia, who worked closely with the customer to understand the specific operational and environmental challenges their site faced, ensuring we could deliver a bespoke solution.
Working in a new environment
Gael Force was working with new client in a new market, and therefore the customer required a high level of support, including an introduction to new operating procedures and a translated user guide to overcome the language barrier. Their pens also differed from those that the companies engineering teams typically work with, requiring new mounting methods and customised equipment fittings.
Notably, the region’s hot and humid climate is in stark contrast to the sites the company typically work with. To ensure reliable long-term performance, their engineers developed new procedures and adapted specific components to prevent heat-related issues and ensure robustness and durability.
Designing and manufacturing in Forres
The vast majority of preparatory work was completed by the Gael Force team in Forres. The design and engineering teams developed new hardware, and the customer support team updated user manuals to align with the bespoke products.
On-site installation and training
In September, one of the engineers travelled to the site for a four-day visit to complete installation and provide hands-on training with the customer’s team. In total, 20 SeaSight cameras were installed with the assistance of their site engineers.
The customer’s site configuration differed from that of many of the clients that they usually work with in Scotland. Unlike many SeaSight installations, which are connected to aerials, this system is operated boatside. The power lead connects directly to the vessel’s control box, allowing users to switch power on the laptop and immediately access real-time video of fish inside the pens.
A foundation for future growth
Following the successful installation and positive customer experience, there is already interest in expanding the system, with the potential for additional camera units and upgraded HD models.
