Roger Gilbert, Publisher of International Aquafeed magazine, speaks to Benedict Standen, Head of Aqua marketing Global at dsm-firmenich, during the bi-annual ISFNF 2024, in Mexico.
Mr Standen emphasises the importance of the event in giving a platform to globally connect with leading experts in nutrition, to discuss and gather knowledge vital for moving the industry forward. Among the topics of sustainability, circular economy, nutrition, novel raw materials and health solutions, was the topic of Feed formulation for disease control.
Mr Standen talks about dsm-firmenich’s focus on this with ‘Optimum Vitamin Nutrition’, about the application of the right vitamins, at the right time, hitting the right objectives. In his presentation he approached the core theme of ‘from exposed to protected’, looking at establishing solutions to improve immunity of the animal, pathogens, and mycotoxins. Mr Standen also tells us about the vital focus needed on the responsibility to reduce anti-microbial resistance, a ‘crisis waiting on happen’ due to its implications on human health.
