Robin Pearl has announced his resignation as CEO of American Mariculture, American Penaeid, and Sun Shrimp Gourmet, companies he co-founded and led for over 11 years. Pearl confirmed the decision, which was made over a month ago, in a LinkedIn post, expressing both pride in his accomplishments and disappointment with how his tenure ended.

Pearl attributed his departure to disagreements with a prominent group of shareholders, who, following two major hurricanes, demanded changes that he could not accept. Despite the challenges, Pearl highlighted the successes of the past decade, including building a skilled team, advancing shrimp technology, and establishing a strong reputation in the industry.
Pearl stated that he chose to keep the news of his departure private to give the new leadership team the best chance for success, but now felt it was necessary to clarify his lack of involvement with the companies since mid-November.
In his message, Pearl expressed gratitude towards his team, customers, and stakeholders for their support over the years. He plans to continue pursuing new ventures in the shrimp industry and remains committed to making shrimp a sustainable and affordable protein source for a wider audience. Pearl concluded his post by wishing his colleagues and industry partners success in the coming year, as he looks forward to his next professional chapter.
