The Aquaculture Roundtable Series (TARS) 2026 has announced its full conference programme, bringing together global aquaculture and aquafeed experts to address the future of feed development in a rapidly evolving industry. Scheduled for August 19–20, 2026, at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, the event will focus on the theme “Aquafeeds: Fit for Future 2.0.”
The Directorate General of Aquaculture (DGA) of Indonesia, which is part of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), will support TARS, which is currently in its fifteenth edition and is regarded as one of Asia’s premier aquaculture conferences. Additionally, the organisers have reminded delegates that there will be a ceiling of 250 registrants and that the early bird registration period will conclude on June 30.
This year’s program is intended to assist the aquafeed industry in adjusting to growing challenges, such as oversupply, declining profit margins, disease outbreaks, and the increasing effects of environmental and climate change, according to Zuridah Merican, Editor of Aqua Culture Asia Pacific and Chair of TARS 2026.
“We have developed an exciting programme to help align the aquafeed industry with a rapidly changing aquaculture ecosystem,” Merican said. “TARS aims to prepare the aquafeed industry for the future.”
A number of “State of Industry” talks that look at the future of aquafeeds and feed commodities will kick off the conference. Global feed grain markets, the supply of marine ingredients, industry resilience, and Indonesia’s aquafeed industry will all be covered by experts. Piet Verstraete of 4SEA Investment & Technology, Haris Muhtadi of De Heus Indonesia, Brett Glencross of IFFO, and Caleb Floss of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council are among the speakers.
Future-proofing aquafeeds with precision nutrition, functional feeds, substitute ingredients, and smart feeding technology will be a key focus of TARS 2026. Sessions will examine how feed formulations can lessen environmental effects while increasing digestibility, fish and prawn health, feed conversion ratios (FCRs), and overall production efficiency.
The popular Hard Talk session, where senior industry leaders discuss the changes needed in feed formulation, feeding practices, and industry mindsets to create truly future-ready aquaculture systems, and the Industry Dialogue with Next-Gen Farmers and Feedmillers, where young farmers will discuss their expectations of future feeds, are two more highlights.
With over 50 confirmed speakers and panellists, TARS 2026 is anticipated to offer insightful information about the potential and problems influencing Asia’s aquafeed industry and the larger aquaculture value chain.
