TidalX AI, a spinout from Alphabet Inc focused on AI solutions for aquaculture, has hired Cristina Winkler as its first local employee in Chile, marking a step in its expansion into the region.
Winkler, appointed Head of Customer Success and Health Strategist, brings over 12 years of experience in aquaculture, including roles at Aquabyte, Proyecto Pincoy, and Cermaq. She will support customers using Tidal’s AI tools for autonomous feeding, biomass estimation, and fish health monitoring.

“I look forward to contributing to the expansion of local support and Tidal’s presence in the Chilean market,” Winkler said.
Chile is a key region for salmon farming, and Winkler’s background in both Chile and Norway is expected to strengthen Tidal’s operations. CEO Rajesh Jadhav said her experience will help deliver localised insights and customer support.
TidalX AI spun out of Alphabet’s X lab in 2024 and is backed by investors including Perry Creek Capital and Ichthus Venture Capital. The company develops AI-based systems for aquaculture aimed at improving efficiency and environmental outcomes.
