At this year’s World Aquaculture Society’s meeting in Darwin, Australia International Aquafeed Magazine Publisher, Roger Gilbert spoke to Antonio Garza de Yta, Immediate-past President for the World Aquaculture Society, on his impressions of both the conference sessions and the exhibition.
He noted that this was Australia’s third show in recent years and this year’s event has proven to be a great success. It included a Lifetime Accomplishment Award, for Roy Palmer, which was an exemplary choice as Roy represents someone with a long and impressive history in the aquaculture industry. The Award comes with a trophy and certificate. Next year WAS has several events lined up, including that to be held by the Asia-Pacific Chapter, and taking place in Surabaya, Indonesia. This year’s event was held in the last week of May.
