Nuseed Nutritional, the nutritional seed technologies platform of Nufarm Limited, has appointed Evy Vikene as aquaculture lead for Europe and Norway to support the adoption of Aquaterra omega-3 canola in the Norwegian, UK, and EU aquaculture markets. Vikene has over 25 years of experience in the aquaculture industry, most recently as commercial director at Skretting Group.

Vikene’s appointment underscores Nuseed’s strategy to address the growing demand for sustainable and reliable omega-3 sources in aquaculture. Aquaterra omega-3 canola, a plant-based ingredient, is seen as a key solution to stabilizing the omega-3 supply chain, which has been affected by the limited and volatile availability of marine raw materials. Vikene expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “Aquaterra is going to be vital to stabilizing the omega-3 supply chain. I am delighted to join Nuseed in introducing this groundbreaking, plant-based ingredient to Norway and Europe.”
Benita Boettner, Global GM for Nuseed Nutritional, highlighted Vikene’s deep industry knowledge, noting, “Her understanding of omega-3 supply challenges and the trust she has earned in the industry make her a valuable addition to our team.”
Vikene’s expertise will play a crucial role in the expansion of Aquaterra in European markets, as new raw materials become essential for sustainable seafood production. Pablo Berner will continue to support Nuseed in the Americas as aquaculture lead, where he has successfully helped bring Aquaterra to market.
Nuseed’s strategic appointment comes at a time when the aquaculture sector faces increasing pressure to find alternative, sustainable sources of omega-3 to meet the growing demands of seafood production.
